SPECIAL – REINFORCED PLATE ROLL

As is often the case, a client presents with a specification request that is outside of the normal limits of available technology.

In this instance, the client needed to bend very tight radius profiles which limited the diameter of the top roll. But the material was very long and too thick for the diameter top roll that would be required – so there would have been too much force for the top roll to resist.

The solution was to provide supports and reinforcements to the top and side rolls. SweBend PB4 bending machines can have as standard fully adjustable CNC controlled support rolls under the bottom bending roll, to create CNC Crowning. This is necessary to produce cylindrical parts by removing the deflection of longer bottom rolls.
