Spray Engineering Devices Invests in SweBend Technology to Drive Energy-Efficient Sugar Processing
Spray Engineering Devices Limited (SED), a global provider of energy-efficient process solutions, has continued its investment in advanced forming technology with the delivery of a new SweBend plate rolling machine as part of a wider modernisation programme.
Founded in 1992 and headquartered in India, SED designs and delivers customised engineering solutions for the sugar, bioenergy, water treatment and food processing sectors. The company operates in more than 40 countries and has implemented its technologies in over 600 sugar mills and more than 100 water recycling facilities worldwide, with a strong emphasis on energy efficiency and sustainability.
The latest SweBend machine is the second of four new machines ordered by SED and will be deployed in the sugar extraction process from sugarcane, where precision, repeatability and machine reliability are critical to maintaining process efficiency and product quality.
In addition to its new equipment investment, SED currently operates eight Roundo plate rolling machines across its production facilities. Four of these machines have been fully refurbished and upgraded by SweBend, including the integration of modern CNC control systems to extend service life, improve accuracy and future-proof the equipment.
By combining SweBend’s technical expertise with a deep understanding of Roundo machine capabilities, the upgrades have enabled SED to optimise production performance while aligning with its long-term efficiency and sustainability objectives.
The continued partnership highlights how manufacturers in the process industry are balancing new capital investment with strategic machine refurbishment to improve productivity, reduce energy consumption and support global expansion.
